Tina Smrekar has completed her MFA studies in Photography at the
Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig, Germany in 2005 and received a
degree in product design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana,
Slovenia in 2002. She also participated in a trimester at the
Bauhaus-Kolleg at the Bauhaus Dessau in Germany.
She works in photography, video, installation and research projects as
well as performance. Her works been exhibited Europe-wide. She has
received various awards and scolarships including a DAAD Scholarship
Award, a scholarship from the Slovenian Ministry of Culture, a
Fellowship Award of the Vermont Studio Center, an Artist-in-Residence
Award from the Museumsquartier in Vienna and KulturKontakt Austria.
