The performance Crimes of the hart – made in Skopje is a directors rebelion against “drama theatre” thought at AGRFT in Ljubljana.
In June 2004 realistic version of Beth Henley's "Crimes of the heart" - clasical (melo)drama text from the seventies – was performed in a documentar(eal)istic way as part of the program of schooling at AGRFT.
Later the play was invited to Skomrahi festival in Skopje, Macedonia. Mare Bulc, the director did not want to show there a realistic play in slovene language. He wanted to do something new, something that would make sence also for non-slovene language speakers.
All the rehearsals with the actors for the new performance took place in Skopje at the Skomrahi festival at the end of march 2005. Crimes of the Heart – Made in Skopje was premiered on April 1 st in Macedonian National Theatre in Skopje.
Crimes of the hart – made in Skopje is a performance based on an idea of deconsturcting theatre play that already exists on a video screen. This deconstruction happens live infront of the audience while old version of play is being projected.
